In 1957, at age 14, Carlotta Walls LaNier was the youngest Little Rock Nine member to integrate Central High School. This act of courage and defiance became the catalyst for change in the American educational system. By ushering in a new order, she and her fellow warriors became 'foot soldiers' for freedom.
Despite her youth, Mrs. LaNier understood the impact of education in a promising future. Inspired by Rosa Parks and the desire to get the best education available, she enrolled in Central High School.

Kim A. Freeman is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in Little Rock, Arkansas where she lives and works. She practices massage therapy in the Heights, an established and well-known area and just a quick jaunt from the Cantrell area. She attended and completed massage therapy school from January to June in 2006 at Touching America, a clinic and school of massage established in 1957. It is the oldest and most recognized school in the state of Arkansas.

She has already made a lasting impact on her community in such a short time as an actress, comedian, community advocate, dancer, human rights activist, make-up artist, poet and talented writer. Shanna was also named as an Outstanding Poet of the 21st Century in 2000.
